CPIE021 - Circuit and IPX description datagram sizes do not match. ( OS/400 )
CPI1466 during Backup Addresses (Business Address Services)This documentation is copyright by IBM.
Message : CPIE021
Circuit and IPX description datagram sizes do not match.
Message Long Text :
Cause . . . . . : The active IPX description &2 has an IPX maximum datagram size which is larger than the default maximum datagram size of IPX circuit &1.
This can cause unpredictable results when sending packets over circuit &1. Data may be discarded with no indication to the application that data has been discarded.
Recovery . . . : Do one of the following:
-- Ensure that the applications which will be using circuit &1 are sending packets no larger than the default maximum datagram size of the circuit minus the protocol headers. To determine the size of the packet that can be sent by the application, the IPX and SPX headers must be subtracted from the default maximum datagram size of the circuit. The IPX header is 30 bytes and the SPX header is 12 bytes.
-- Change the IPX maximum datagram size on the active IPX description to have a value equal to or less than the default maximum datagram size of the circuit. In order for the new IPX maximum datagram size on the IPX description to take affect, IPX must be ended using the End IPX (ENDIPX) CL command and then restarted using the Start IPX (STRIPX) CL command.
If this message was received when circuit &1 was started by the Start IPX Circuit (STRIPXCCT) CL command, then issue the STRIPXCCT &1 command again.
