Message : CPPC056
A CHAP authentication failure occurred for Network Server &30.

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . :
This failure is normal if the hosted operating system successfully booted
after manually changing the CHAPAUT parameter in the remote system
configuration. When the hosted system is powered on, iSCSI adapters may
automatically use the old CHAPAUT value for non-boot iSCSI connections,
resulting in authentication failures. The hosted operating system must
boot once to store the new CHAPAUT value in iSCSI adapters for non-boot
iSCSI connections.

If the hosted operating system failed to boot, then one or more of the
following may have caused the problem:
-- Target CHAP authentication is configured in the remote system NWSCFG,
but not in the hosted system's boot adapter configuration.
-- The Target CHAP name or secret in the NWSCFG is different than the
Target CHAP name or secret in the boot adapter configuration.
-- Initiator CHAP authentication is configured in the hosted system's boot
adapter configuration, but not in the remote system NWSCFG.
-- The Initiator CHAP name or secret in the NWSCFG is different than the
Initiator CHAP name or secret in the boot adapter configuration.
-- An unauthorized iSCSI initiator attempted to access a storage target
node, especially if the failure happened when no NWSD was in the
process of being varied on.

Recovery . . . :
If the hosted operating system failed to boot, do the following:
-- Use DSPNWSCFG to display your remote system configuration.
*SECADM special authority is required to see the CHAPAUT parameter
values.
-- Ensure that the following items in the hosted system's boot adapter
configuration are correct:
--- Target CHAP values match the CHAPAUT parameter values in the
NWSCFG.
--- Initiator CHAP (mutual CHAP) is disabled, or else Initiator CHAP
values match the CHAPAUT parameter values in the NWSCFG.
