Format specified for the VARCHAR function not correct.

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : The specified format is not correct for this function. The correct syntax is VARCHAR(expression,length,ccsid).
The first argument must be a string expression.
The second argument, if specified as a length, is the length attribute of the resulting varying-length string and must not exceed 32740. If a default length is desired, specify DEFAULT or leave the argument blank.
The third argument, if specified, must be a valid SBCS or mixed CCSID.
