Cause . . . . . : A processing option choice saved in the Query for iSeries query definition analyzed causes numeric field overflow to be truncated (not rounded) when Query for iSeries runs the definition. Query management does not support truncation of field overflow, so values calculated for numeric result fields and values calculated for summary functions will be rounded.
Overflow handling could affect the running of derived objects in unexpected ways. Rounded up values could introduce a divide by zero failure, change the results of total and average calculations, or reverse the outcome of comparisons used for record selection, sorting, joining, and minimum/maximum summary function calculation. Analyze processing cannot determine the effect.
Recovery . . . : If you want to change result field expressions to compensate for rounding, use the WRKQRY command to change the Query for iSeries query definition.
Make sure any differences resulting from rounding instead of truncating are acceptable before substituting query management produced data for that produced from the saved definition by Query for iSeries.
