Definition
Authorization Object for CLM actions and applications.
You can restrict the CLM features available at runtime for the current user by assigning this authorization object with appropriate values. During user and role setup, administrators can choose various value combinations for this authorization object and assign them to various roles to allow restricted access to CLM actions.
This authorization object is defined with authorization fields - Application and Action.
- Application indicates the participating application against which the user is performing an action, for example: Risk Management 10.0, Process Control 10.0, Planning and Consolidation 10.0.
- Action is the CLM action being performed by users at a particular point in time, for example: Extract, Deploy, Mass Edit, Export Package.
The following are examples of the different roles that can be created with different combinations of values for this authorization object:
- Role: Content Vendor Administrator
- Application: '*': Valid for all applications
- Actions: View Content Group, Extract Content Group, Edit Content Group, Create Package, Edit Package, Lock Package, Export Package
- Role: Risk Manager Consumer
- Application: 0001: Valid only for Risk Management 10.0 application
- Actions: Import Package, Deploy Content Group, View Content Group, Edit Content Group
- Role: Super Admin
- Application: '*': Valid for all applications
- Actions: '*': Valid for all actions
Authority Checks: For each CLM action, a check is performed to see if a user is allowed to execute this action for the particular application. If authorization fails, the corresponding action is either hidden from the UI or an appropriate error message is shown to the user providing information about the restrictions for the application and action.
