Definition

The Landscape Management Database (LMDB) is the central information repository for your system landscape, based on the standard Common Information Model (CIM).

The authorization object AI_LMDB_OB defines the authorization for single product system objects in LMDB.

Note that product systems are maintained in LMDB since Solution Manager 7.1 SP05, but no longer in transaction SMSY.

For authorization checks of other LMDB objects, see Authorization for LMDB Objects (AI_LMDB_OB).

For LMDB administration authorization checks, see Authorization to Administrate LMDB (AI_LMDB_AD)

Fields

The authorization object has the following fields:

  • ACTVT: The activity field defines the general access authorization to the object for the user.
  • LMDB_NAMES: The LMDB namespace field defines the namespaces to which the user is supposed to have access. The possible namespace values depend on the namespaces that are available in the local LMDB and on the selected LMDB domains. An SAP Solution Manager system usually has only one namespace: <'active'>.
  • PS_NAME: This field defines to which product system the user is supposed to have access. The product system name is the key of a product system object in the LMDB. Maximum length is 8 characters.

Integration of the Checks in SAP Solution Manager

The authorization checks are integrated into several parts of SAP Solution Manager, for example:

  • LMDB Product System Editor (transaction LMDB)
  • Creation of Maintenance Optimizer Transactions

Activities

  • Create (Activity 01) and Delete (Activity 06)
Related operations are, for example, the creation or deletion of product systems in LMDB.
  • Change (Activity 02)
Related operations are changes of product systems in LMDB, for example, the assignment of product instances to a product system.
  • Display (Activity 03)
The related operation in the LMDB is displaying a product system.
