Definition

You can use this authorization object to restrict external system access to data of process instruction characteristics and process message characteristics.

Defined fields

The following table lists the fields of the authorization object with the corresponding values:

Fields	Possible	Meaning
	values
Activity	B1	Transfer allowed values
Char.name	Any	Name of the characteristic for which the
		activity may be carried out

Caution

Make sure you never assign the following authorizations to one user:

Authorization object	Field	Value
C_PROCCHAR	Activity	B1 (Transfer allowed values
		to external system)
	Char. name	Any
C_CABN	Activity	1 (Create characteristics)
		or
		2 (Change characteristics

If you do so, the user would be able to create or change characteristics in such a way that he can access any R/3 or SAP ERP data from an external system.
