Short text

Problems with scrolling with scroll bar/display
Tip-No.: 1150

Symptom

Following events were observed from an ABAP/4 listing display:
1. Although there were other list lines above and below the current
window section, the scroll bar stood at "Beginning" or "End"
(both incorrect).

2. Although you did not see the whole list in the window, the scroll bar
displayed "All" - scrolling was not possible.

3. Although the scroll bar slider was pulled all the way down, the list
did not show the last lines.

4. Scrolling via mouse click above and below the slider behaved in
different way to "Previous/Next"(F22/F23, P+, P-).

Cause

Error in interaction between list and dialog processors, or special
problem within the SAP listing display unit (see solution).

Solution

Correction(s).
1. -3.:
In most cases, scrolling functions just fine via function keys. Often,
a simple "Resize" does the trick (change window size).

4.:
Not an error.
Clicking on scroll bar has a different effect to pressing function keys
"Previous/Next":
- Clicking on scroll bar: the shifted by its entire length in the
specified direction. The new slider position
is the new position of the listing.
- Previous/Next: scrolls forward/backward by exactly one window section.

Normalerweise entspricht die Slidergroesse exakt dem Windowausschnitt.
In SAP list display, the so-called TOP-OF-PAGE areas are not held in
the slider because it cannot be scrolled. Nevertheless, the dividing
lines bt. the individual list sections (after NEW-PAGE ...) and the
filler lines at the end of the listing are deducted from the slider
size. All of these effects together cause the above different by
2 lines approximately.
