Symptom

According to SAP-SQL, only access to data in the proprietary client
is possible. This is insufficient in certain utility functions
(e.g. conversion, table comparison against SAP status).

Solution

In a meeting on this topic held on June 1, 1992, it was decided to
enable intra-client reading as follows:
- In each SQL language element, you can suppress the previous implicit
client selection using an additional option. Instead of this,
the programmer him/herself must specify the client. This is not
valid for SELECT, but is valid for UPDATE, INSERT, and DELETE.

This should be realized in Release 1.1, but will not be realized in
1.1A. The release of this feature will be made public via MAIL/info
folders (as normal).

Further planning (possibly 2.0):

- There will be a utility program to display all programs containing
intra-client data base accesses.
- Program characteristic "program contains intra-client data base
accesses" will also be made visible during transport, in order to
provide quality assurance for the customers.
(Prevent that critical programs are unknowingly transported from
the test system to the productive system).
