Specifying Tablespaces for tables/indices

Symptom

A data base table was created in the default tablespace.

Cause

In the data dictionary,the specification of the tablespace for this
table is missing.
If there is no spec. for the tablespace, the table is placed automatic-
ally in the default tablespace defined for the SAPR/3 (separate table-
space for tables of the class TRANSP, as well as for table pools and
table clusters).

Solution

Specify the tablespace in the DB utility in the data dictionary. Proceed
as follows:
Branch into the data base utility as in the Data Dictionary Manual,
Section "Database-specific memory allocation".

Specify the tablespace here, in which you wish to create the table or
index.
