Defining of a logical data base using SE36.
Tip-No.: 245

Symptom

1. Message: logical data base XXX unknown.
2. Function in client &lt;&gt; 0 not allowed

Cause

1. Logical data base was not maintained completely.
2. Only display in client &lt;&gt; 0 is presently supported (F20).

Solution

1. Maintain the data base using Transaction ALDB or SE36.
At least the following objects have to be maintained:
- the data base structure
- the data base program (SAPDBxxx)
- the definition of the DB-specific selections (DBxxxSEL)
- the selection texts for the DB-specific selections.
2. Use the display function.
The dependency of clients is presently being re-worked.
