Symptom
BRARCHIVE reports:nothing selected for the given function
although there are archives in directory $ORACLE_HOME/saparch.
Cause
There is a gap bt. the last archive entered in the brarchive log file
($ORACLE_HOME/saparch/archc11) and the oldest archive in saparch.
Example: in the log file, C11arch_205 is the last entry, whereas in
saparch, the oldest archive is called C11arch_221.
brarchive checks, during the next run, whether an archive with the name
C11arch_206 is present. If this is not so, then it assumes that no other
archives are present and issues the above message.
Solution
The existing file archC11.log must be renamed. When next calling up
brarchive, the new file archC11.log is created - beginning with the
oldest archive in archC11.log.
