SPOOL - number assignment of spool orders

Symptom
Which system determines the number assignment in the SAP System?
27470, 5201, and 28342 occurred sequentially.
Cause
The number assignment is generated with a random number generator
and then checked for non-existence in the data base. When we
attempted to assign numbers in ascending order, it lead to too many
block situations.
Solution
There is still no general number assignment in the SAP System.
Until further notice, the following is valid:
the spool numbers are "internal codes without mnemonic meaning".
