Symptom

Abend ofABAP/4 run-time system with error message

"Run-time error SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC"

for Array-Insert with "INSERT dbtab FROM TABLE itab."

Cause

For Array-Insert, the attempt to set a record in a data base table in
which there is already a record with the same key is seen as a data
base error that leads to a termination.

For single record insert, this is still treated as an error in which
the program re-takes control with SY-SUBRC = 4.

Solution

Only use Array-Insert if no record from the internal table
already exists in the data base.
