Error when sorting large datasets

Symptom

When sorting larger datasets (internal tables or extracts)
a termination occurs with

RABAX "EXSORT_EXEC_EXEC_NOMSG" when executing,
or
RABAX "EXCORT_PUT_PUT" when writing.

Cause

If large datasets cannot be sorted in the roll area, the
operating system sort routine is called. This requires help files
for the disk sort.
If the file system (to which the directory belongs) in which the help
files are to be saved is full, the above described error can occur.

Solution

1 Installation side: Enlarge file system in which the sort stores
its help files.
2 Call-up side: Limit the quantity of data more strictly.
