ORA-00057: 'max. number of DDL-locks exceeded'

Symptom

SQL error 57 occurs sporadically.

Cause

The maximum number of DDL - locks in Oracle was reached.

Solution

This is possibly a temporary bottleneck. Try again in a few minutes.
If the error occurs again, inform the data base adminiatrator.
He/she must then increase parameter DDL_LOCKS. You must then
restart the data base and systems.
