Mode abend after signal reciept in work process
Tip-No.: 67

Symptom

User mode terminates. In the Syslog, information regarding receipt
of a signal appears, as well as abend of the previous and the start
of a new work process.

Cause

During the processing of a dialog step, the work process received a
signal (e.g. storage overwrite discovered by operating system) that
lead to process termination with a core dump. The newly started
subsequent work process deletes the mode that its predecessor was
processing at the time of the crash (for safety reasons).

Solution

The core dump must be evaluated to obtain exact information
about the context of the crash and thus about the true cause of
the error.
