AGI207 Error when writing line item index

Symptom

When posting (e.g. using FB01), the following error occurs:
'AGI207 Error when writing line item index for GLS1'.

Cause

The R06 System contained the following error:
If the doc. no. assignment is year-dependent, the line item index for
the G/L line item cannot be written as this table does not have the
year in the key. If then the same doc. no. is assigned the following
year, the key for this file is identical to the existing one.

Solution

There several ways to get around the problem:

1. The number range level is raised in the new year, such that it is
larger than the highest number in the previous year.
This is done with Transaction FBN1, that also displays the numbers
from the previous year.
In the R06 System, the data from 1991 is merely test data. Generally,
there is not must data entered.
This is the best method.

2. The error only occurs if the line items are written in the G/L.
If no items are written in the G/L, then this can be controlled in
TAble T887 or T887C.
This, however, requires G/L knowledge.

3. The entries in file GLIDX are deleted. This means that no double keys
arise in the new year. It however mean that the associated line items
in the G/L can no longer be read with the line item display.
