CWM support in Global Trade Management (GTM)

In Global Trade Management (GTM) as of SAP enhancement package 5, the agency business and Expense Management has been enhanced with a second unit of measure (parallel unit of measure). This means you can now use catch weight materials in your processes.

Agency Business

You can use theAgency Business component to process business between third parties (for example, brokerage, pooled payment business). You can offer the parties involved various advantages or services (for example, del credere guarantees or simplified payment transactions), and settle commission in the system.

Expense Management

Using expense management in SAP Global Trade, you can process various costs and commission that arise in the course of business trading. Various kinds of expense are incurred at different times when processing business trading that have to be posted to different accounts.

CWM support integrated in Trader's and Scheduler's Workbench (TSW)

As of SAP enhancement package 5, in the trader's and scheduler's workbench (TSW) there are Catch Weight materials in the transport and trade business processes.

TSW has already been integrated in the SAP Trading solution (Global Trade Management). There exists therefore an integrated solution for purely bulk products in the following areas:

  • Logistics planning
  • Scheduling/planning and trade
  • Risk management

The following main components of the TSW are part of this integration:

  • Transport Planning Document
Transport planning documents (planning documents) are used when planning transports for communicating between the area TSW and the forwarding agent.
  • Ticket
A ticket is an official message of a partner, such as a forwarding agent, about the movement of a good, and is sent by fax, e-mail or some other form.
  • Stock Projection Worksheet
The stock projection worksheet (SPW) contains the stock figures to be expected for selected combinations of transport system and material or location and material.
  • Three-Way Pegging
Three-Way Pegging is used to plan and schedule bulk transports based on supply and demand information. This involves a link in three directions, namely demand items (stock requirements or customer requests), supply avails (material that is produced or purchased or in stock) and transport avails (vehicles, vessels, or pipelines available to complete the shipment).
  • Dynamic Scheduling
Dynamic scheduling improves the planning function of the TSW, by combining the basic components of Three-Way Pegging (3WP) and the stock projection worksheet (SPW) in one application.
