/CWM/FMP: CWM Flexible Material Prices (New)
Use
As of SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0, Industry Extension Catch Weight Management (IS-CWM 605), the CWM, Flexible Material Prices in ERP (/CWM/FMP) business function is available.
You can use this business function to utilize flexible material prices in SAP Catch Weight Management (SAP CWM). You can define separate price types. This provides you with a day-based, periodic, and non-time based price update.
For the prices types defined you can
- Define in valuation variants and use for material cost estimates
- Update from material cost estimates
- Use as comparison prices and prices to be updated in the balance sheet valuation using valuation alternatives
- Update the future prices using dynamic price release
This business functions provides
- Improved margin Controlling under market conditions
- Simulation and analyses, making the influence of price changes on profitability transparent
- Tracking of various market prices or prices of a different origin
- Analysis of different prices and a comparison of price trends with each other
This business function improves you view of costs, prices and margins, and allows you a greater degree of control over the sales organization and to optimize the production program with a view to increasing profit.
You can define the new prices types in valuation variants, and use in balance sheet valuation using similar valuation alternatives keys.
In an enhanced transaction for price release, you can update the new price types from cost estimates.
You can find the new transactions in the SAP Easy Access menu under Logistics → Materials Management → Valuation → Flexible Material Prices

- Display prices,,/FMP/MP_DISPLAY
- Compare prices ,,/FMP/MP_COMPARE
- Display prices history,,/FMP/MP_HISTORY
In Customizing of the valuation variant, the new entry "P - Flexible Material Prices" is possible in the strategy sequence by entering theprice type in a new field.
In the price update transaction (CK24), additional rows have been included under Other Prices, which enables you to enter prices ofthe new price types.
Effects on Existing Data
In addition to the dynamic price release, you can update the Future Price from the new price types. You can identify and use the traditional price types using a separate key in the new transactions. The existing dataset is not affected, nor the configuration.
The Valuation menu area in the Materials Management area has an additional menu point Flexible Material Prices assigned, in which the new transactions for managing prices have been defined.
