J_7L_REA_CORE: REA, Recycling Administration (New)

Use

The business function REA Recycling Administration (J_7L_REA_CORE) is available as of SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 4 (EA-APPL 604).

You can use it to settle your recycling processes with any recycling partner within and outside of Europe. Recycling Administration (REA) enables precise financial reporting and supports your company by providing multiple cost analysis functions. The focus of Recycling Administration is on item or weight-based fee calculation for specific materials, as well as end-to-end traceability and the implementation of legally defined reporting procedures to the environment authorities. In addition, other areas of implementation (for example, calculating copyright fees) are possible using custom implementations.

The central process of Recycling Administration is declaration administration. REA creates declarations for reporting incurred costs for a recycling partner with whom you work according to individual requirements. REA then forwards these declarations to Financial Accounting (FI) for further processing.

REA builds on a separate master data concept of articles, packaging, and fractions, which allows you to create a more precise settlement basis. An REA article is a material that is used as the main value in declaration administration on the basis of the contract between the user (for example, a manufacturing company) and the recycling partner.

REA-specific recycling contracts enable you to organize the contract data defined in the licensing agreements (for example, conditions or price lists) for each of your recycling partners.

REA provides extensive reporting functions to analyze the costs of the recycling process and to support cost reductions.

Effects on Existing Data

When you integrate REA into the SAP ERP standard system, there is no change in functional scope. The functions are identical to those in the add-on version. Minor adjustments have, however, been made to the interface.

Note

The functions of the REA, Recycling Administration (J_7L_REA_CORE) business function are available with the shipment of SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 4 (EA-APPL 604). Customers who have already implemented REA as an add-on in previous SAP releases must consider the processes of the business function concept when upgrading to the current release and activate the REA, Recycling Administration business function manually.
