Import Control during Inbound Delivery (New)

Use

Starting in SAP GRC Global Trade Services 8.0, you can use the import control functions for inbound deliveries. When you configure the transfer of inbound deliveries from the SAP ERP feeder system to SAP GRC Global Trade Services for legal control, the system creates a replicate of the inbound delivery and runs the import control for it.

  • Functions in import control for inbound deliveries
  • If you configure synchronous transfer of inbound deliveries from your SAP ERP feeder system, you can see a dialog with the result of the import control directly in the inbound delivery in the feeder system. You can also use the monitors in SAP GRC Global Trade Services to display the result. If import control cannot assign an import license for control-relevant inbound delivery items, you can assign it manually in SAP GRC Global Trade Services. You can also use the monitors in SAP GRC Global Trade Services for inbound deliveries that are transferred asynchronously.

  • When deliveries are blocked, you can use automatically triggered follow-on functions in your feeder system. In this case, when you assign an import license, the system triggers the follow-on processes in the supply chain automatically as soon as the inbound delivery is released. You can also check whether purchasing documents in SAP GRC Global Trade Services can be archived.

  • Integration with customs declaration prior to goods receipt
  • You can create customs declarations prior to goods receipt based on purchasing documents or inbound deliveries. In this process, you can update the item data in a purchasing document with the inbound delivery data. If the system blocks this inbound delivery during import control, the system also blocks the same quantity in the purchasing document. If the item quantity in the purchasing document is greater than in the subsequent inbound delivery, you can still create a customs declaration prior to goods receipt for the remaining PO quantity.

  • If you have created customs declaration prior to goods receipt that are based on purchasing documents, and communication with the customs authorities is still pending for a given declaration, the system runs the import control for the inbound delivery anyway. If import control for the inbound delivery results in a block, the system integrates the results of the check in the incompleteness log of the customs declaration. You cannot send the customs declaration to the authorities until it is complete. As a result, you can ensure that all customs declarations you create prior to goods receipt that are based on purchasing documents are compliant with all relevant laws.

Effects on Existing Data

Effects on Data Transfer

If the system cannot assign document information during data transfer of the inbound delivery between SAP GRC Global Trade Services, the system ignores this information. The import control can then fail, due to the missing data, resulting in an import block. Inbound deliveries without full assignment of the feeder system document data in the document data are not considered technically incomplete.

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

You can reach the document transfer of inbound deliveries for import control in Customizing for the document transfer in your feeder system for SAP GRC Global Trade Services, under one of the following paths:

Sales and Distribution → Foreign Trade/Customs → SAP Global Trade Services - Plug-In → Control Data for Transfer to SAP Global Trade Services → Configure Control Settings for Document Transfer

  • Materials Management → Purchasing → Foreign Trade/Customs → SAP Global Trade Services - Plug-In → Control Data for Transfer to SAP Global Trade Services → Configure Control Settings for Document Transfer

You can reach the Customizing activity for integrating the control results in the incompleteness check for the customs declaration in Customizing for SAP GRC Global Trade Services under SAP Compliance Management -> "Legal Control" Service -> Control Settings for "Legal Control" Service
