Sanctioned Party List Screening (Enhanced)

Use

Starting in Release 7.2 of SAP GRC Global Trade Services (SAP GRC GTS), you can use the following enhancements for sanctioned party list screening:

  • TREX technology for search mechanisms in sanctioned party list screening
In addition to the standard search mechanisms in sanctioned party list screening, starting in this release, you can use the central search engine in SAP NetWeaver for comparing addresses in sanctioned party list screening. The TREX search engine is a central tool. Improvements are available automatically in each release upgrade. You can decide whether you want to use the existing search mechanisms or the new ones.
  • Auditor program
Auditors at your company can use this function to access all the relevant functions. The system shows the screening results of the individual documents, along with the business partners they contain, giving you an overview all the performed screening from a central junction.
  • Audit trails for simulated screening
When you simulate sanctioned party list screening, the system logs the results in audit trails. As a result, you can view the results of the simulation at any time for one-time screening.
  • Screening of external addresses from files with audit trails
If you want to check business partner data or document data from external systems, you can save the data in an XML file and screen it in SAP GRC GTS. When you run this screening without direct integration with the logistics system, the system records the results in audit trails that you can display at any time.
  • Reasons for releasing documents and business partners
Starting in this release, you can define a catalog of reasons for releasing documents and business partners. The person who is responsible for releasing a document or business partner then has to select an appropriate reason for release from this catalog. The process cannot continue until a release reason is specified. You can also activate reasons for releasing documents and business partners in the "Embargo Check" service.
  • Improved logic for generating search terms
The new release contains improved logic for defining the search terms for address data in which duplicated letters are important differentiation characteristics. This enables you to achieve a more precise number of hits in the screening results.
  • More details in monitoring functions
Starting in this release, the monitors in sanctioned party list screening contain more detailed information, for example, the reasons for blocking partners or documents. They also show existing comments from previous screening runs. Furthermore, there is a clear visual difference between documents and partners that were blocked by the current run and those that were blocked in past runs, which makes it easier to verify and check the newly blocked entries.
Lastly, you can configure a notification function for the monitors, which informs the responsible employee directly when a business partner or document is blocked.

Effects on Existing Data

Effects on Data Transfer

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

The following enhancements require configuration or modifications in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for SAP GRC GTS:

  • TREX
To use the search technology from SAP NetWeaver in the address comparison, you have to activate the TREX search in the following IMG activity by setting the TREX flag for use in the address comparison: SAP Compliance Management -> "Sanctioned Party List Screening" Service -> Define Control Procedure for Address Comparison
  • Reasons for release
The reasons that must be assigned when documents or partners are released are also defined for a determination procedure in the IMG, under SAP Compliance Management -> General Settings-> Define Reasons for Releasing Blocked Documents and Business Partners. You can then activate the use of these reasons and assign a determination procedure to a legal regulation. To do so, use the following activities:
  • SAP Compliance Management -> "Sanctioned Party List Screening" service-> Control Settings for "Sanctioned Party List Screening" Service

  • SAP Compliance Management -> "Embargo Check" service-> Control Settings for "Embargo Check" Service
