Usability in SAP Customs Management (Enhanced)

Use

Starting in Release 7.1 of SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS), you can use the following enhancements to process your transit procedures and customs processes: Search help for monitoring functions of logistics documents

The transfer of logistics documents from the feeder system to SAP GTS (as part of logistics integration) can generate a customs declaration or entry in one of the worklists in SAP GTS automatically, depending on your Customizing for process determination. In this process, the system analyzes the document data from the feeder system and your Customizing settings to determine in which worklist it should generate an entry for further processing. Starting in Release 7.1 of SAP GTS, in addition to the monitoring functions for the specific worklists, search functions are also available that let you determine the specific worklist where a logistics document generated an entry. Within the list of search results, you can see the categorization of the goods movement that resulted in the entry in a specific worklist, and navigate directly to that list.
  • Single document display in the Transit Procedure and Customs Processing services
When you select the input help for the single document display in one of these two services in SAP Customs Management, you can search for documents both from the active service and the respective other service and navigate directly to the found documents. In addition, you can enter a reference to the underlying logistics documents for a customs shipment or customs declaration in the input help, and navigate directly to the corresponding document. Additional search criteria you can use to search for documents in both services simultaneously include:
  • Administrative data

  • Target procedure

  • Documents

  • Verification

  • Field control
You can adapt the field labels of certain fields dynamically. This lets you adjust the field labels to your specific needs, for example, changing the labels to meet the demands of your company or your local customs authority. You can also hide fields in the tab pages of the customs shipment or customs declaration, to simplify the display.
  • Business Add-In (BAdI) for incompleteness check
A BAdI is now available that gives you even more flexibility in the design of the incompleteness check. You can now make minor modifications directly in the check, without having to define your own check functions.
  • Direct toggle between the area menus for the Dispatch Procedure and Customs Processing services
  • Export confirmation monitor
The export confirmation monitor for SAP Customs Management has been revised. You can now enter export confirmations and shipping confirmations, and monitor the deadlines for export or repeat presentation more exactly. You can also analyze the dependability of ship-to parties and shipping agents based on the deadline monitoring functions.
  • New Geography tab page in the customs shipment and customs declaration, to consolidate information for countries and customs offices
The summarization of all country-specific information and the detailed display of customs offices in a new tab page enhances the information available for the geography data, and enables a better overview on the Transportation tab page, where some of the geography data was previously displayed.

Effects on Existing Data

Data proposal mechanisms for export confirmation monitoring will no longer work after the upgrade to SAP GTS 7.1.

Effects on Data Transfer

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

The revised version of export confirmation monitoring has the following effects on Customizing:

  • We recommend removing the Export Confirmation entry from the customs code list after the upgrade. To access the customs code list in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for SAP GTS, choose SAP Customs Management -> General Settings-> Customs Code Lists.
  • The data proposal mechanism for managing export confirmations is now obsolete. We therefore recommend removing the data proposal for export confirmation management from Customizing. To access the settings for data proposals in the IMG for SAP GTS, choose SAP Customs Management -> General Settings-> Procedures for Defaulting Data.
