SAP Customs Management - Basic Functions (Enhanced)

Use

As of Release 7.0 of SAP Global Trade Services, you can use the following new or enhanced functions in SAP Customs Management:

Guarantee Management (new)

You can use guarantees to lodge a security with the customs authorities. For example, in the transit procedure you can use a comprehensive guarantee. SAP Customs Management offers guarantee management at the following levels:

  • Monitoring of used and remaining guarantee amounts
  • Automatics debiting and backposting of guarantee amounts for relevant message and document transactions
  • Managing access and administration codes and using them in communication with the customs authorities

Procedure Determination (enhanced)

With the enhanced procedure determination function, you can automate the export of goods and the receipt of goods for imports. If the system is configured accordingly and integrated with the supply chain, SAP Customs Management supports automatic procedure determination on the basis of parameters from the feeder system. Based on the information from relevant logistics documents in the feeder system and the settings in SAP Customs Management, the system determines the appropriate transaction and the correct activity sequence. As a result, the system finds the item category and the document type and can tell from this whether the declaration is a single customs declaration or a local clearance in the simplified procedure.

You can thus configure the system in such a way that it can create the necessary document (for example, customs declaration or customs shipment, including the relevant transaction and correct activity sequence) in SAP Customs Management as soon as you save the logistics document in the feeder system. In addition, you can increase the automation of processes through configuration to such an extent that the system can automatically print the required form (for example, the export declaration or first message to the customs authorities), using the default data from the created customs shipment or customs declaration whenever the document is saved in the feeder system.

Usability (enhanced)

  • Incompleteness Check
  • You can now use the incompleteness check for documents that are intended for printing only, with the exception of messages.

  • From the overview of results for the incompleteness check, you can go directly to the fields concerned at header and item level. This allows you to complete your customs declaration or customs shipment for the required message or document.

  • The existing document monitoring function allows you to view the incompleteness status for customs declarations or customs shipments.

  • Procedure for Defaulting Data:
  • You can use the extended field catalog for the general default data for document fields. This allows you to define new source and target field combinations in the procedure for defaulting data.
