Document Extension with Customer Data Through BAdI Implementation (New)

Use

Starting in Release 7.1 of SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS), you can implement new BAdIs in feeder systems such as mySAP Enterprise Resource Planning (mySAP ERP) and in SAP GTS to transfer custom data from the feeder system to SAP GTS through the external API interface. You can save this data directly in append structures of the document object, or in customer tables. You can use these extensions for both the customs document in SAP Compliance Management and the customs shipments in the transit procedure, and create the customs declaration for processing of SAP Customs Management in BAdI implementations. If you use a customs worklist to create customs declarations in customs processing, you can also route the customer data through the customs worklist.

These enhancements enable you to adapt the data saved in your document objects according to your specific needs. The external data is then available in addition to the standard data transferred to and entered in SAP GTS, for the specific analysis of your import and export processes. If you use SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (SAP NetWeaver BI) for your analyses, you can use enhanced extractors to transfer the customer data to BI. You can also use the customer data to fill the IDocs that the system uses to create forms or send messages to customs authorities, which enables you to add additional data to the forms or messages.

You can also use the customer data in the interface in SAP Customs Management. You can activate tab pages in the customs shipment or customs declaration at header and item level, to display or change data in the user interface. The interface controls let you create additional fields for manual data entry in the documents. If your process involves using a customs worklist to create customs declarations, and you have linked the customer data with the customs worklists, you can use this additional data as extended selection criteria.

You can also link the customer data with the incompleteness check for forms and messages, as well as the default data in SAP Customs Management.

Moreover, you can use the new BAdIs as an alternative to the existing user exits EXIT_SAPLSLL_LEG_CDPIR3_001 and EXIT_SAPLSLL_LEG_CDPIR3_002 from enhancement project SLLLEG01. We recommend using the BAdIs for the document transfer in the medium term, at the latest.

Effects on Existing Data

Effects on Data Transfer

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

To use the interface enhancements for customer data in documents transferred from the feeder system, you have to configure the BAdIs for mapping and delivering the data in the feeder system, as well as for receiving the data in SAP GTS.

  • The BAdIs are available in the mySAP ERP feeder system in the Implementation Guide (IMG) in paths:
  • Sales and Distribution-> Foreign Trade/Customs-> SAP Global Trade Services -> Business Add-Ins for SAP Global Trade Services -> Change and Expand Document Data for Transfer

or
  • Materials Management → Purchasing-> Foreign Trade/Customs-> SAP Global Trade Services -> Business Add-Ins for SAP Global Trade Services -> Change and Expand Document Data for Transfer

  • The BAdIs for transferring the data to SAP GTS are available in the IMG under the following paths:
  • Customs document:

SAP Global Trade Services -> SAP Compliance Management-> Business Add-Ins for SAP Compliance Management-> Transfer External Data to Customs Document
  • Customs shipment/customs declaration:

SAP Global Trade Services -> SAP Customs Management-> Business Add-Ins for SAP Customs Management-> Transfer External Data to Customs Declarations and Customs Shipments
  • Customs worklist:

SAP Global Trade Services -> SAP Customs Management-> Business Add-Ins for SAP Customs Management-> Transfer External Data to Customs Worklist
  • The BAdIs to integrate customer data in the user interface of SAP Customs Management are available in the IMG of SAP GTS under the path:
  • SAP Global Trade Services -> SAP Customs Management-> Business Add-Ins for SAP Customs Management-> Integrate External Applications with Customs Declarations and Customs Shipments
