Plug-In for SAP GRC Global Trade Services (New)

Use

Starting in Release 7.2 of SAP GRC Global Trade Services (SAP GRC GTS), you can use a specific plug-in (PI) for SAP GRC GTS to integrate the logistics processes in SAP Enterprise Resource Planning.

The separate PI for SAP GRC GTS, referred to by its technical component name SLL_PI below, has the following features:

• SAP GRC GTS 7.2 only with SLL_PI

To use the new functions in SAP GRC GTS 7.2 for integrating logistics processes from SAP ERP, you must use SLL_PI.

• Synchronized release cycles of SLL_PI and SAP GRC GTS

This separate PI, which comes in a new version with each product release of SAP GRC GTS, frees your dependency on the central plug-in. It lets you use the latest functions available in SAP GRC GTS for the integrated logistics processes in your feeder system without any modifications. In addition, the separate plug-in for SAP GRC GTS means you do not have to upgrade your feeder system.

• Independence from standard components

The specific PI for SAP GRC GTS lets you benefit from the following without requiring any system modifications:

• The release cycle of SLL_PI is independent from the release cycle of the PI 2004_1_xxx for SAP R/3 4.6C through SAP ERP 2004, as well as SAP_APPL for SAP ERP 6.0 (formerly SAP ERP 2005)

• Installation of the SLL_PIs is independent from PI2004_1_xxx and SAP_APPL

• Downward and upward compatibility of SLL_PI

The compatibility of SLL_PI means you can use the processes of all previous releases of SAP GRC GTS that are currently being maintained.

There are no dependencies between upgrades of SLL_PI and SAP GRC GTS. This means you can start an upgrade project for one of the two products without affecting the other installation. Therefore, if wish to start an upgrade from a previous release of SAP GRC GTS to the current release, you can begin preparing it now. You can install and configure SLL_PI before you implement SAP GRC GTS, without affecting ongoing processes in SAP GRC GTS.

• Maintenance strategy

The maintenance strategy for SLL_PI follows that of the existing standard PIs until their end of maintenance. Once maintenance for the previous PIs ends, only SLL_PI will be maintained.

To install SLL_PI, you first have to run an upgrade for the standard PI, PI_2004_1_xxx, depending on the release level of your feeder system. The specified SP is the minimum requirement. You can also use SLL_PI with more recent SPs than the ones specified.
