Analysis Tool and Enhancements in Preference Processing (New)

Use

Starting in Release 7.2 of SAP GRC Global Trade Services (SAP GRC GTS), preference processing helps you determine the preference eligibility of products with the following new functions:

  • Analysis tool for requesting vendor-based long-term vendor declaration (V-LTVD)
This tool lets you reduce the number of requests for V-LTVDs to an economically sensible size. The system analyzes a number of criteria to reduce requests, for example:
  • Preference rules: If the tariff shift for a product is already sufficient for attaining preference eligibility, the request for a V-LTVD is unnecessary.

  • Value limits: If products have already attained preference eligibility by passing a value limit, you can also skip the request for a V-LTVD.

  • Request of V-LTVD
To ensure a simplified, uniform procedure within the legal framework, the preference agreement is no longer a selection criterion in this release. During the request run for V-LTVDs, the system processes the information for all active preference agreements within a jurisdiction that is represented by a rule set. This simplifies all the follow-on processes of the request.
  • Usability improved in the monitors
You can use the monitors in preference processing to track the progress of processes for determination in preference processing. Starting in Release 7.2, you can optimize the process flow for determining preference eligibility by using the branching functions in the individual monitors. You can go directly to the linked functions, where you continue the processes, for example, you can go directly from the monitor for requested V-LTVDs to the follow-on function for entering V-LTVDs.
  • Preference determination
In addition to the overall determination of bills of product, in which the preference statement is determined automatically by low-level code during the transfer from the feeder system, you can also use single determination starting in this release. In this approach, the system automatically determines the corresponding bills of product at lower levels for a specified leading part and then determines their preference.
