Support for Tamper Protection Functions

Use

Support package 1 for release 2.0 of the connector for the SAP Financial Services Network supports functions for ensuring end-to-end consistency of payment messages, even when format transformations are made by the SAP Financial Services Network. For this purpose, the connector can create fingerprints of payment messages. The supported formats are pain.001.001.02 and pain.001.001.03. For creation of a payment fingerprint, the connector determines some critical fields from each payment transaction contained in a payment method. The payment fingerprint is then signed and attached to the extended header. The bank that receives the payment message can then create its own fingerprints of the received payment message and use these to verify the signed fingerprints received in the extended header of the FSN Message.

Effects on Existing Data

If tamper protection functions are activated, fingerprints are added as parameters to the extended header of an FSN Message. Fingerprints are created during the outbound processing of an FSN Message directly before the message is sent to the SAP Financial Services Network.

Effects on Customizing

To activate tamper protection functions you create an entry with application "FSNCFP" in Customizing for the connector under Financial Services Network Connector -> Maintain Secure Store and Forward (SSF) Profile Data.

When creating this Customizing entry, maintain the common name (CN) and set the required security flags. Usually only Sign is needed for tamper protection.
