Automatic Costing of Sales Document Items
Description
Starting with Release 4.0A you can specify whether saving the sales document results in a sales document item being:
- Costed automatically
- Cost and marked automatically
For example, in mass production environments using sales orders it may be advantageous to:
- Create the sales order cost estimate automatically if you are using a valuated sales order stock and want to valuate the individual requirements materials at the standard price on the basis of the sales order cost estimate
- Automatically create and mark the sales order cost estimate when you are using a valuated sales order stock and:
- Work in process can be calculated on the basis of the target costs calculated in a sales order cost estimate
- You want to calculate the total variance including the sales order cost estimate

You use the Costing ID indicator in the requirements class to control whether costing and marking are automatic.
