New Functions in Unit Costing
Description
Activity-Based Costing (ABC)
The following new categories apply in unit costing:
- Item category P: manual process costs
- Item category X: calculated process costs
The new item categories apply to the costing of base planning objects, sales orders, materials, internal orders, production orders (CO), WBS elements and to general cost objects.
They do not apply to primary cost planning.
Subcontracting in unit costing
In unit costing, the item category L (Subcontracting) is available.
You can calculate overhead on the subcontracting items entered manually in the unit cost estimate. You set the Apply overhead to subcontracted materials indicator in the valuation variant.
Filtering costing items
When you display and change unit cost estimates, you can filter the costing items according to the columns of the cost estimate. For example, you can display only the items of a particular item category.
Entering the work center and plant
In Release 4.0A, you can enter the work center and the plant of the work center for each item in the unit cost estimate.
Item category E (Internal activity) enables the cost center to be determined from the work center and plant.
