ATP Server, Logistics Planning, LIS and SCPI

Description

This release note contains a summary of the most important new functionality in the following areas:

  • ATP Server
  • All availability checking now done on a dedicated machine

  • Global memory in the form of a Shared Buffer

  • Extensive monitoring and administrative functions for the Shared Buffer

  • Requirements specific to particular customers and projects can be checked at storage location and/or batch level

  • System parameters at operating system level in ATP Server profile

  • Logistics Planning: Distribution Resource Planning (DRP)
A new application component that:
  • Provides Production Planning with an accurate requirements plan ("distribution requirements planning")

  • Optimizes the distribution of available stock levels using a graphical distribution network ("deployment")

  • Logistics Planning: Flexible Planning
  • Planning with more than one period indicator in consistent planning

  • Enhanced forecasting functions

  • Enhanced mass processing functions

  • Exclsuion of planning objects from the planning process

  • Increased freedom to choose the level at which a macro is calculated

  • Fixation of key figures is saved when the planning version is saved

  • Drilling down level by level in consistent planning

  • Extended selection screen

  • Resource leveling: maintenance of the materials available as well as the materials required to meet an operating target

  • Resource leveling: variable base quantity in rough-cut planning profile

  • Increased control of system performance

  • Annotation icons in the planning table to denote long texts

  • Different aggregation logic for Characteristics Planning

  • Interface with Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)

  • Data transfer to Activity-Based Costing (CO-OM-ABC)

  • Synchronous data transfer to Demand Management (PP-MP-DEM)

  • Data transfer to Demand Management from an information structure without the characteristic "plant"

  • Logistics Planning: Demand Management
  • Characteristic values of a specific material can be marked as relevant for planning.

  • Logistics Planning: Capacity Planning
  • Available capacity can be maintained across multiple work centers (a function specially designed for the semiconductor industry).

  • Logistics Planning: Master Data for Production
  • Time-dependent scrap factors, cycle times and load factors can be maintained in the material master or routings through predefined period splits.

  • Logistics Information System (LIS)
  • Each information structure must be created with attribues (standard, standard with stock values, no period unit, no updating, plannable or non-plannable).

  • Data for standard analyses can be selected using hierarchies.

  • Characteristics that belong together (e.g. work center and plant) can be fused in standard analyses and user-defined analyses.

  • Enhanced functionality for selection versions

  • Supply Chain Planning Interfaces (SCPI)
  • Open interfaces for optimization of:

- Demand planning
- Distribution resource planning
- Production
- Transportation planning
