New planning functions for planned orders

Description

In Release 4.0A there are the following new planning functions for planned orders on the planning tables:

• Reschedule planned orders taking production versions into account

When you reschedule a planned order to another work center it is automatically scheduled again. Until now scheduling used the formulas from the new work center but the old standard values.

Now you can use the indicator Reschedule with production version in Strategy profile to define that when rescheduling, the production version in which the new work center is specified as the production line is copied to the planned order. The planned order is scheduled again using the routing for this version and dispatched to the new production line.

A condition for copying the new production version is that the old work center is specified as the production line in a production version.

Until now the system schedules using the formulas from the new workf center but the old standard values

• if the new or the old work center is not entered as production lines in the production versions

• if the indicator Reschedule with production version is not set

If you set both the indicator Reschedule with production version and the indicator Terminate when rescheduling production version then rescheduling is terminated when the new work center is not entered as the production line in a production version for the material.

You can only apply the function to main operations; you cannot use it to reschedule sub-operations.

• Automatically dispatch planned orders taking production versions into account

Until now the automatic dispatching of planned order to a work center was either terminated or carried out with an error message in the planning log if an error arose (for example, capacity overload). On termination planned orders that could not be dispatched remain in the pool.

Now you can use the dispatching function Change production version on error in the strategy profile to specify that the production version with alphanumerically the next version key is to be automatically copied to the planned order. The planned order is rescheduled but not dispatched. It remains in the pool and you can dispatch it together with other operations in the pool to the new production line.

You can only use the function with main operations; you cannot use it to reschedule sub-operations.

• Manually change production version of planned orders

You can manually change production versions of dispatched planned orders or of orders in the pool.

To do this select the planned orders whose production version is to be changed and choose Functions -> Extended planning -> Change prod.vers.. You reach the dialog screen Production versions for planned orders and can change the production versions of the selected planned orders.

The planned orders are scheduled using the new production version. Orders that have already been dispatched are deallocated. If the production version of a planned order refers to work centers that are not contained in the current selection for capacity leveling then the planned orders is not displayed.
