Campaign Management

Description

From 4.5A, you can group similar production processes in one sequence and in one production line for production campaigns. This reduces the setup/clean-out costs, and provides for a more accurate settlement through the distribution of fixed campaign costs.

A typical production campaign consists of a setup phase, several planned and process orders, clean-outs, and a teardown phase.

This new function enables you to do the following:

  • create production campaigns
  • process (such as defer, or expand) production campaigns, and
  • convert production campaigns (in process orders)

You can also calculate the costs for

  • the individual orders in a campaign
  • the complete campaign

You can also

  • allocate the fixed costs of a campaign (such as setup costs, clean-out costs, and teardown costs) to the materials on a source-relevant basis within the campaign, via business processes
  • carry out preliminary and final costing of the production campaign
  • calculate actual costs, WIP, and variances
  • display cost reports relating to the campaign and the business processes involved in the information system, in order to assess the cost efficiency of the production campaign as a whole

You can base campaign management on business processes. Costs that cannot be directly allocated to materials (such as clean-out costs, and setup costs) are settled to business processes. The costs of the business processes are allocated periodically to the process orders in accordance with the process quantities used.
