New Functions in Unit Costing

Description

The following new functions are now available in unit costing:

  • New reference objects of unit cost estimates
The previous reference object for unit cost estimates in the project system was the WBS element. In Release 4.5A you have two additional reference objects: general costs activities and material components.
With unit costing you can now plan your costs in more detail in earler planning stages. This is an advantage when you want to use unit costing for order costing, because potential buyers generally expect a quotation at a very early stage.

  • Printing
When you print a unit cost estimate, the system takes you to the cost component split where you can use the functions of that report.

  • Costing raw materials
In cost estimates without a quantity structure and in preliminary cost estimates for sales order items, you can use the function of raw material costing. If you choose Functions -> Raw material cost estimate -> Switch on/off in the list screen of the unit cost estimate, the system costs the raw material and enters an item of category I.

  • Indicator: Price changed manually
You can manually change the value of a costing item. The indicator Price entered manually indicates whether the price for the item was entered by a user or selected by the system.

  • Sums
In unit costing you can have the system calculate a sum of all items that are not hidden when the filter is set.

  • Indicator: Do Not Determine Item Value via Cost Component Split
In cost estimates without a quantity structure you can determine for each costing item whether the price is taken from an existing cost component split or whether the system uses a price from the material master.

  • Multiple Valuation Views
In unit costing (base object cost estimates, preliminary cost estimates for sales order items) you can update costing results to multiple valuation views. You specify which valuation view you want to cost in the costing type in Customizing. You then enter this costing type in the costing variant with which you cost the base planning object.
