Social Insurances (I0150)

Description

The format of this infotype has been improved upon both in the physical structure and how data is processed. Individual tab strips have been created for Medical Aid (MA), Pension Fund (PF), and Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF). This allows you to view only the information relevant for each Social Insurance type.

  • Medical Aid (MA)

The data selection for MA on this infotype is now maintained through the view cluster VC_MED_ZA see Maintain Medical Aid Insurances. MA data is maintained as follows:

Medical Aid companies are stored in the system, with corresponding schemes (previously referred to as subsidiary). Each scheme is assigned contribution classes and each contribution class is assigned contribution amounts. The contribution amounts are based on the employee's age and salary.

Based on how MA information is processed in the system through the view cluster, the following is an example of how an employee is assigned MA details on (I0150):

  1. You select the relevant company.
  2. You select a scheme. (You will only have an option to choose from those schemes applicable for the medical aid company selected).
  3. You select a contribution class. (You will only have an option to choose from those contributions classes valid for the scheme selected).

According to the data selected in the previous steps, the employee is automatically assigned a contribution amount.

As a summary of the MA features available in Release 4.5A on infotype (I0150):

  • In the F4 help, you now view only the valid choices for each entry.
  • The contribution amount is no longer solely based on the company, contribution class, and employee's salary, but also the scheme and the employee's age.
  • In addition, payment models are used to calculate medical aid contributions for employee who are paid on a non-monthly basis. This is done by maintaining Deduction Frequencies and indicating the payment model on the medical aid scheme. You will therefore need to create different schemes for non-monthly employees. To calculate the contribution amount, the standard contribution is divided by the number of periods in the payroll period and then deducted accordingly.
  • The standard contribution is then divided by the number of period

This allows for a more flexible and accurate means of calculating MA contributions.

  • Pension Fund (PF)

The data selection for PF on this infotype is now maintained through the view cluster VC_PEN_ZA see Maintain Pension Funds. PF data is maintained as follows:

Pension Fund companies are stored in the system, with corresponding funds (previously referred to as subsidiary). Each fund is assigned a contribution as a percentage. The contribution is based on the company and the fund.

Based on how PF information is processed in the system through the view cluster, the following is an example of how an employee is assigned PF details on (I0150):

  1. You select the relevant company.
  2. You select a fund. (You will only have an option to choose from those funds applicable for the pension fund company selected).

According to the data selected in the previous steps, the employee is automatically assigned a contribution.

As a summary of the PF features available in Release 4.5A on infotype (I0150):

  • In the F4 help, you now view only the valid choices for each entry.
  • The contribution amount is no longer solely based on the company, but also the fund.
