New dispatching function: Consider operation sequence in the order

Description

As of Release 4.5B, you can use the dispatching function Consider operation sequence in the order, which is available in the strategy profile.

This function applies to:

• Planned orders

• Production orders

• Maintenance orders without relationships

If you have activated this function in the strategy profile, an operation can only be dispatched after the nearest preceding dispatched operation in the order (planning direction backwards) or before the nearest subsequent dispatched operation (planning direction forwards).

The system first determines when dispatching or rescheduling the nearest preceding dispatched operation (planning direction forwards) or the nearest subsequent operation (planning direction backwards). Starting from the dispatched predecessor (or successor), the system executes lead time scheduling forwards (or backwards). For all operations that were not dispatched and all operations without capacity requirements, the system specifies new dates that follow the predecessor (planning direction forwards) or that lie in front of the successor (planning direction backwards). Then the system dispatches or reschedules the operation after its immediate predecessor (planning direction forwards) or before its immediate successor (planning direction forwards). The immediate predecessor or successor can be the nearest dispatched operation, an operation that has not yet been dispatched or an operation without a capacity requirement.
