Project: Transient Workflow

Scope of Functions

This new function can be used to mark workflows with particular properties (for example, without asynchronous steps or forks) as "transient". When this indicator is set, only the workflow item and the work item first created are stored in the database. All other work items are created, but are not stored in the database.

This improves performance considerably, but restricts the functionality of the workflow. For example, there is no agent resolution anymore. It is also no longer possible to cancel the workflow without data loss.

The function "Transient Workflow" is provided on a project basis and can only be activated after consultation with SAP Workflow Development.
