Setting the Type of Work Center Identification in Customizing

Scope of Functions

As of 4.6A, the type of work center identification, required for telephone integration, that is to be used is set in Customizing. You can choose between the following types:

  • When a work center is created a new ID is generated and stored in the registry of each computer.
  • The work centers are identified via the existing host name.
  • The work center is identified via the corresponding user.

Effects on Customizing

The activity Telephony active / Work center identification, which is found in the R/3 Basis Implementation Guide under Basis --> Basis services --> Communication interfaces --> SAPphone:Client-wide settings, replaces the activity Set client-wide activation flag that had to be carried out for outgoing calls in earlier releases.
