POP3 Server is no Longer Delivered to Customers

Scope of Functions

As of Release 4.6A, the SAPoffice POP3 server is no longer delivered to customers. The advantages of the POP3 server are, however, provided by other products in the R/3 standard system:

  • Option to work offline and own choice of mail client
The SAP MAPI Service Provider provides these functions, where the mail client supports the MAPI interface.
  • Universal inbox for different R/3 Systems
This function is included in the new mail system functions of the Business Workplace.
