New Functions in the Costing Run

Scope of Functions

The costing run functions enable you to process mass data. The new costing run has a new interface design which enables you to carry out all the steps from one screen.

To reach these functions, choose Accounting -> Controlling -> Product Cost Controlling -> Product Cost Planning -> Material Costing -> Edit Costing Run.

The screen is divided up into the following three areas, which you can show or hide as required:

  • General data

This area contains the general information about the costing run, such as the costing variant and costing dates, which are sorted under the tab pages Costing data/Dates/Valuation. Before you continue with the costing run, you have to create and save the general data for it.
  • Processing

This area contains the processing steps, such as material selection, BOM explosion, costing, and price update. It is only available after you have created the general data for the costing run and saved the run.

You can also use the Schedule Manager to display the jobs. (See also Schedule Manager: Monitor)
  • Costing results

This area enables you to call and analyze costing results such as the material list and costing level overview. You can also go to the detailed information on material cost estimates (for example, the itemization and cost component split).
