Rework Orders in Period-End Close of Cost Object Controlling

Scope of Functions

To easily integrate the settlement of rework orders in the period-end closing process of Cost Object Controlling, the new function Preliminary Settlement for Co-Products, Rework has been introduced. This function has the following features:

• If you are using rework orders, such orders are settled to the original order.

Note:

When you settle the rework orders, do not settle according to the original cost elements. If you settle according to the original cost elements, you run the risk of multiple allocation of overhead if you perform the period-end closing activities more than once.

• If you are using collective orders without goods movements (old processing of collective orders), such orders are settled to the leading order (SAP recommends the use of collective orders with goods movements).

• In joint production, the actual costs posted to the header of the manufacturing order are distributed to the order items. This used to be performed with the function Distribution for Co-Products.

The processing steps are performed automatically in the proper sequence. In the above scenarios, the function Preliminary Settlement for Co-Products, Rework ensures that you can use the Schedule Manager and its generalized worklist for the period-end closing process.

The Preliminary Settlement for Co-Products, Rework function only needs to be used in the above-mentioned cases.
