Use
New developments in Application Link Enabling for Release 4.6C are:
Status Monitor for ALE Messages replaces Manual IDoc Processing
New display options have been added to manual IDoc processing. ALE audit and IDoc tracing have been integrated. The former menu function Process IDocs Manuallyis now called Status Monitor for ALE Messages.
The status monitor provides the following functions:
- New display options in the hierarchy display
- You can sort IDocs in the sending and receiving systems by partner system.
- ALE audit and IDoc tracing in the status display
- Provided that status confirmation messages (ALE audit information) from the receiving system have arrived in the sending system, their status is displayed.
- With IDoc tracing you can call up the status of each IDoc synchronously in the partner system.
- You can print the hierarchy display of the status monitor.
- You can display application objects.
Conversion of Logical System names in Client Copy
The ALE function for copying logical system names (transaction code BDLS) is now integrated in the client copy. The copied client should not be used as the productive client.
- Distribution of Master Inspection Characteristics and Check Methods
- As of 4.6C Quality Management supports the distribution of master inspection characteristics and check methods. You can find the functions from the SAP Menu under Tools -> ALE -> Master Data Distribution -> Logistics -> Quality Management.
- User Roles
- To make it easier to assign ALE functions to specific user types, the following roles have been defined:

- ALE Development:,,,,,,,,,,SAP_BC_MID_ALE_DEVELOPER
- Logistics - Master Data Distribution:,,,,,,SAP_BC_MID_ALE_MD_LO
