Concurrent Employment for Public Sector Great Britain

Use

From release R/3 Enterprise onwards, Public Sector customers in Great Britain are able to use standard technological framework 'Concurrent Employment' for Personnel Administration. This framework will replace the specific solution 'Multiple Employment' for Personnel Administration available in earlier releases and will provide greater possibilities in management of the simultaneous personnel assignments between an employee and an employer.

'Concurrent Employment' module provides easy and efficient ways of viewing, accessing and managing the personnel information. A new initial screen for transaction 'Personnel Actions' (PA40) allows for an immediate recognition of an employee and finds the similar previous and current employments. After entry of initial details, the system is able to detect the employees with the similar data. These employees are presented to the user and the latter can choose whether the person is a new employee or pick up an existing one. If the user confirms that the employee is a new one, than the action will proceed as in non-concurrent situation. If the person already exists, the system's behaviour and type of action performed (new assignment, re-hire etc.) can be customised to reflect the desired procedure.
In previous releases, on the contrary, such recognition could only be performed after processing of infotype 'Personal Data' (0002). This function now is obsolete.

A new initial screen of transaction 'Maintain HR Master Data' (PA30) significantly extends the functionality offered by pushbutton 'Contracts'in prior releases. New'Assignment Selection List Box'provides a possibility to navigate between different personnel assignments of an employee. New 'Personnel assignment overview'popup is intended to give a quick overview about the existing assignments of an employee, while new 'Personnel assignment details'screen provides more detailed information. All of these new features are fully configurable.

IMG steps relevant to activation of 'Concurrent Employment' for Personnel Administration for Public Sector customers in Great Britain are grouped in the following IMG chapter:

  • Payroll -> Payroll Great Britain -> Public Sector -> Settings for Concurrent Employment

The 'Concurrent Employment' for Personnel Administration functionality should be activated in IMG step 'Activate Concurrent Employment for Personnel Administration'using CCURE PAUIX switch.

Selection of desired fields and layout of 'Assignment Selection List Box' have to be maintained through view 'Personnel Assignments - Texts' (V_T587C_T) in IMG step 'Description of Personnel Assignments'.

The desired fields and layout of 'Personnel assignment overview' popup and 'Personnel assignment details' screen are maintained in IMG step 'Personnel Assignment Overview and Personnel Assignment Details'. This IMG step consists of 3 parts:

  • 'Assignment Overview'permits to choose the desired information on 'Personnel assignment overview' popup via view 'Personnel Assignment Overview' (V_T587C_O).
  • 'Assignment Details: Categories'allows to create all categories that will be displayed on 'Personnel assignment details' screen through view 'Detail View: Personnel Assignments - Categories' (V_T587A).
  • 'Assignment Details: Line Layout'lets to define the layout of 'Personnel assignment details' screen in view 'Personnel Assignment Details' (V_T587C_D).

Customising of feature 'Actions - Default Values for Recognition' (ACTCE) ought to be maintained with IMG step 'Actions for Concurrent Employment'. 'Additional assignment' action should be taken from standard settings in table 'Personnel Action Types' (T529A).

The dynamic actions in table 'Dynamic Actions'(T588Z) for infotype 'Personal Data'(0002) that respectively create and check references between two personnel numbers are now obsolete.

Hence the entries for

  • processing type 'Create' (function character 04), step indicator 'F' and variable function part REFERENCE(RPUREFG0)
  • processing type 'Change and create' (function character 06), step indicator 'F' and variable function part REFERENCE_CHECK(RPUREFG0)

can be deleted for country grouping '08'.
