Use
As of SAP AII 4.0 new activities are delivered to support new functionality such as returnable transport items (RTI), and RFID stock counting. Existing activities have also been updated. The new and changed activities are listed below. For a complete list of all activities, see the IMG under SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure → Conditions and Rules → Activities → Define Activities:
- DEVICE_VALIDATE_40 - Validation (replacement of DEVICE_VALIDATE and DEVICE_VALIDATE_CASE)
- DEVICE_REGISTER_40 - Updates Observed Actions and updates SAP BI (replaces DEVICE_REGISTER and DEVICE_REGISTER_UNDO)
- DEVICE_UPDATE_CURRENT_STATE - Updates Current State of Objects and updates SAP BI (replaces DEVICE_CREATE_STOCK and DEVICE_REMOVE_STOCK)
- DEVICE_UPDATE_DOCUMENT_40 - Updates document in SAP AII (replaces DEVICE_UPDATE_DOCUMENT)
- DEVICE_CONDITION_MODIFY - Update condition for rule determination (new)
- DEVICE_POST_EH_AND_SEND_EVTMSG - Update SAP EM (replaces DEVICE_SEND_EVENT_MSG_OBP10)
- DEVICE_USER_DATA_MODIFY- Update User Data of Objects (new)
- DEVICE_STOCK_CLEAR - Clear Current State for Stock Counting (new)
- DEVICE_STOCK_COUNT - Stock Counting (new)
- DEVICE_CREATE_STOCK_COUNT_DOC - Create Document for Stock Counting (new)
Additions and changes have also occurred for rules. For a complete listing of the rules, see the IMG under SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure -> Conditions and Rules -> Rules -> Define Rules:
- PACK replaces FPP, PSP, FPPE
- PACKM is added
- PACKU replaces FPPU, PSPU
- LOAD replaces FPL, PSL, FPLE
- LOADM is added
- LOADU replaces FPLU, PSLU
- TAGCOM replaces TCPR

- PACKSUBU (Undo Pack Child Objects) is added

- CPACKFINISH replaces CPFP
- COMPEXTDOC is added
- MOV replaces MOVE
Activities and rules marked "obsolete" are only used to support upgrade scenarios from SAP AII releases prior to 4.0. Customers implementing SAP AII 4.0 and above may still use 2.1 activities and rules, but they must not mix 2.1 activities and rules with 4.0 activities and rules within a business process.
