Alert Monitor: Profiles
Scope of Functions
The APO menu has been reorganized for release 3.0. In the current APO Easy Access menu, choose Supply Chain Monitoring -> Current Settings -> Alert Monitor Settings
Settings:
You can now access and maintain your favorite Alert Monitor settings via a shuffler in the Alert Monitor entry screen. New buttons in the Settings toolbar include:
- Favorites maintenance allows you to keep several sets of Alert Monitor settings in your list of favorites .
- Delete settings
Version settings
- The following alert profiles are version-dependent: Forecast, SDP, TLB, VS and PP/DS
- The ATP profile is always for version 000 and the R/3 alert profile is not version dependent.
- Option to offset the beginning of the time frame in which alerts are triggered. You can set the time frame into the future or you can use a negative offset to include past alerts.
Profiles:
For Release 3.0A, the Alert Monitor profiles have been reorganized in the following way:
Available to Promise (ATP)
New alert : Vehicle scheduling, a change in the order delivery date triggers a new ATP check
Forecast profile
The forecast profile replaces the former Demand Planning alert profile and contains all the previous Demand Planning alerts except the macro alerts. As before, you must define the planning area and planning book.
See also release note on Demand Planning: Forecast Profiles
Supply Demand Planning (SDP)
The SDP alert profile replaces the former Supply Network Planning (SNP) profile . The SDP profile contains the macro status and macro type alerts. In this profile, besides defining the alert type selection, you also define:
- object selection by planning area and planning book
- selection and time bucket profile for dynamic alerts
- aggregation and grouping by characteristics
- data base alert characteristics
Previously you could only define data base alerts. Now you also have the option of defining dynamic alerts. Dynamic alerts are real-time; use them for checking the current status of the plan. Data base alerts, on the other hand, refer to macros that already have been executed interactively or in a planning run. Data base alerts have a log-keeping function.
Production Planning/Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS)
The PP/DS alerts cover product shortages, delivery dates, days' of supply, order and pegging alerts.
New / changed alerts:
- Average resource under utilization
- Average capacity overload
- Capacity overload on bucket resource
- Past due date alerts: Customer order due date, (delivery) due date, start date, opening date
- Early date alerts, both for dynamic pegging: Product too early, due date early (both)
- Early date for fixed pegging: Receipt date too early, product too early
- The former fixed pegging characteristics mismatch alert now consists of two separate alerts: incomplete requirement characteristics and incomplete receipt characteristics. Fixed pegging: late product, due date violation
- Dynamic pegging: late product, due date violation
- Order creates excess coverage replaces PP/DS excess coverage
- Order with product shortage replaces PP/DS backlog
New PP/DS profile settings include:
- Display indicators for demand and receipts with problems in the order net
- Product selection for ATP category as well as locations, products and production planners
- Definition of past orders horizon in number of days
- Definition of average resource load per time bucket profile, definition of threshold value for under and over utilization of resource
Transport Load Builder (TLB)
New profile settings for transportation lane selection:
- Source location
- Target location
- Vehicle
- Transportation Planner
Vehicle Scheduling (VS)
The VS Alert Monitor profile has been added for release 3.0, and contains all the data needed for displaying alerts for those planning objects you want to keep track of. As with the other alert monitor profiles, the task of the VS profile is threefold:
- Define alert selection by alert type.
- Define optimization profile to indicate quantity. The optimization profile has its own planning version and horizon, as do alert settings. If you specify a version and planning horizon in the Alert Monitor settings, then those values are used, otherwise the values in the optimization profile are used.
- Create threshold values to further refine the priority of an alert.
VS alert types include:
- Check availability. Order due date changed by Vehicle Scheduling (This alert is identical to the corresponding ATP availability alert.)
- Order not planned in Transportation Planning. This alert is triggered when the optimizer is not able to plan the order.
- No carrier found . This alert is triggered when the optimizer is not able to find a carrier.
- Handling or transportation resource overload
- Optimizer: No transport created
MRP Alerts in R/3
As of Release 3.0A, MRP alerts created in the R/3 system can be viewed in the APO Alert Monitor. In this profile, you maintain those R/3 MRP alerts you want to track in APO. In order to see the alerts in APO, you must create a user view in the R/3 system in which the MRP alerts are generated. This profile contains an automatically generated list of R/3 systems connected to your APO system. Select those systems in which you want to see alerts.
Effects on Existing Data
Demand Planning and Support Network Planning profiles created in 2.0A cannot be used in release 3.0A. Such profiles must be created again.
Effects on Customizing
Creating alert types for SDP (previously Demand Planning) is now an IMG Customizing activity, as of Support Package 2, Release 3.0.
