Enhancement in the Explanation and Simulation Component

Use

Transportation and Shipping Scheduling in the Simulation

As of Release 3.0A (First Customer Shipment and Support Package 1) you can select the date with which the ATP check should work when you start the simulation. Dependent on this date, transportation and shipping scheduling is carried out automatically.

The following are available:

  • Product availability date
  • Requested delivery date
  • Goods issue date

If you execute the simulation you branch to a dialog window that contains all fields of the field catalog of transportation and shipping scheduling (/SAPAPO/KOMGU). The values of the delivering location and the product are preset. In order to carry out transportation and shipping scheduling, you must have maintained the settings for transportation and shipping scheduling. You will find the settings in Customizing for Global ATP under Transportation and Shipment Scheduling. Note that you must maintain the master data for transportation and shipping scheduling (in Easy Access under Master Data for Transportation and Shipment Scheduling Create Scheduling Step).

Note

In the hierarchical display of the rules-based availability check only the product availability dates are displayed independent of the date you are using to carry out the simulation. In comparison, the requested delivery date and the product availability date are displayed in the confirmation proposal screen or the delivery proposal screen.

Date Shift Display

As of Release 3.0A (FCS+SP1) the system gives a warning in the form of a pushbutton if a date shift occurs during the combination of basic methods (for example, product availability check as the first check method, product allocation as the second).

Starting from the sales order entry an availability check (for example, 1. product availability check, 2. product allocation) is carried out in APO. If product allocation is being carried out using the basic method, it can be that the product allocation, for which the confirmation was made, is no longer valid. The availability check, however, returns the late confirmation but now issues a warning. The warning appears regardless of whether the confirmation date is actually outwith the validity of a product allocation.

If you receive such a warning in the confirmation proposal screen or in the delivery proposal screen you should check the detailed results of the individual basic methods. Do this by selecting Check types. Determine which basic method has caused the date shift.

Note that the Global ATP menu has changed as of Release 3.0A (FCS+SP1). You can access the simulation in SAP APO Easy Access underGlobal ATP --> Reporting--> ATP Simulation.

Changes when calling the Alert Monitor

As of Release 3.0A (FCS+SP1) you can branch from the product availability overview or from the hierarchical display of rules-based ATP into the Alert Monitor settings. You have the possibility there to display and change the Alert Monitor profile.

From the product availability overview select Settings--> Alert Monitor Profile.
