Enhancement in Integrated Rule Maintenance: ATP Calculation Profile
Use
As of Release 3.0A (First Customer Shipment and Support Package 1) you can define additional information in the ATP calculation profile for rules-based ATP.
Previously you could use the following parameters in the ATP calculation profile:
- Allowed delay in days
- Allowed early confirmation in days
- Consumption limit in days
As of Release 3.0A (FCS + SP1) you can also use the following parameters in the ATP calculation profile:
- Maximum number of partial deliveries
- Note
- If you have maintained the maximum number of partial deliveries the allowed delay should not equal zero. The allowed delay must be maintained for partial deliveries. If you have entered a value in the partial delivery field that is smaller than 100 percent, the system assumes that it should carry out a subsequent delivery of parts of the order. It is therefore contradictory not to enter a value in the allowed delay field (this would mean that no delay is allowed and, as a result, that a subsequent delivery is not possible) and simultaneously to define a minimum quantity in the partial delivery field for the subsequent delivery. Maintain the data as follows: If a partial delivery is not required then the allowed delay can equal zero, one or several days, and the minimum partial delivery can be 100 percent. If a partial delivery is required then the allowed delay may not equal zero; the minimum partial delivery must be less then 100 percent and more than 0 percent.
- Overdelivery as a percentage
- Packaging size of a partial delivery
- Example
- A packaging size of 12 is defined for customer requirements with the requested delivery quantity of 100. Overdelivery is not allowed. The multiple of the packaging size that is closest to the requested delivery quantity is 96.
Note
Note that these conditions do not apply during the component check with the correlated invoice (partial confirmation logic or total confirmation logic) in the planned order or production order in the R/3 system. That is, if the availability check is called from the production order entry or the planned order entry, the parameters that are entered in the calculation profile cannot be considered.
Enhancement when using the ATP calculation profile
As of Release 3.0A (FCS + SP1) you can use calculation profiles for requested location products without specifying substitutions.
- You create an inclusive rule that only contains one calculation profile.
- This rule cannot contain any substitution procedures.
- You set the indicator Start immediately in the check instructions.
- If the indicator is set, rules-based ATP is executed for the requested location product (for the generating requirement).
- Make this setting in Customizing for Global ATP via General Settings -->Check instructions.
- The requested location product is given again during rule evaluation.
- The calculation parameters that you defined in the calculation profile are applied to the generating requirement.
- Note that the Global ATP menu has changed as of Release 3.0A (FCS + SP1). You will find Integrated Rule Maintenance in SAP Easy Access under Master Data->Rule Maintenance->Integrated Rule Maintenance.
Example
This example applies to the substitute calculation profiles setting. For the add calculation profiles setting, rule 1 and rule 3 would be evaluated (you set whether calculation profiles should be added or substituted in Customizing for Global ATP via Rules-based ATP Assign Rule Strategy).
Rule | Location Determination Procedure | Product Substitution Procedure | Calculation Profile
Rule1 | - | - | X | ||||
Rule2 | - | - | - | ||||
Rule3 | - | - | X |
The requested location product is given again. The calculation parameters are applied to it.
Rule | Location Detremination Procedure | Product Substitution Procedure | Calculation Profile
Rule1 | - | - | X | |||
Rule2 | X | - | - | |||
Rule3 | - | - | X |
The first substitution that the system finds is checked.
