APO-SNP-CTM: New Features in Demand Prioritization

  • Global, reusable sort profiles
  • Support of additional sort criteria, in particular sort criteria from R/3 sales orders
  • Time- and version-dependent maintenance of product priorities
  • User exit for specifying your own formulas on every sorting level
  • Detailed display of prioritized demands

Use

To prioritize demand, you can use either reusable sort profiles that you define in Customizing, or sort profiles that you save locally in the CTM profile. You decide which of these two types of sort profiles to use under the Demand tabstrip in the CTM profile, which you reach by choosing Constrained Network Planning Planning Capable to Match (CTM) Planning.

Sort Profile

In a sort profile, a collection of demand prioritization settings also used in Backorder Processing in Global Available-To-Promise, you define which criteria and sequence are used to sort demands. You also define the direction in which demands are sorted. Three sorting directions are possible: ascending, descending, or a so-called free sorting that can be used for criteria for which no common numerical or lexical sequence can be determined (for example: SD document category, item category of sales document, etc.). Which sorting direction can be used depends on the criteria that you choose.

To define a sort profile in Customizing, choose Supply Chain Planning -> Supply Network Planning (SNP) -> Capable-To-Match (CTM) -> Demand Prioritization -> Maintain Sort Profile.

Note that sort profiles defined in Customizing can be used for multiple CTM profiles or in Backorder Processing in Global Available-To-Promise.

To define a sort profile directly in the CTM profile under the Demand tabstrip, choose Constrained Network Planning -> Planning -> Capable-to-Match (CTM) Planning.

Note that a sort profile defined directly in the CTM profile is only valid for that particular profile.

New User Exit

Instead of entering a sort criterion, you can now call a user exit on each sorting level. The user exit, for instance, enables the evaluation of combinations of criteria.

Example

Only if the demand is based on a sales order (criterion: SD document category), then sort by the criterion delivery priority of the order item.

The user exit is called again after the demands have been prioritized.

Detailed Display of Prioritized Demands

You can display the sort criteria from the R/3 sales order for each demand, provided that assigning the demand to a sales order is possible, by double-clicking on the list of prioritized demands.
