APO-SNP-CTM: Saving to liveCache

Use

In previous releases, the results from calculating demand could only be written to liveCache synchronously. As of Release 3.0A (First Customer Shipment and Support Package 1), you can write demand calculation results to liveCache asynchronously.

Specifically, if you choose an asynchronous update, in a so-called package you then define how many demands are calculated at a time. The result from the calculation of this particular number of demands is written to liveCache, while the next demand package is processed by the CTM engine. With this parallel processing, overall performance is increased.

After starting planning, you can follow the progress of the update in the message displayed at the bottom of the screen. You can also check the updating log by choosing the QFRC Monitor button.

To choose either a synchronous or asynchronous update, and to define the package size, choose the General Settings tabstrip in Customizing for Capable-To-Match under Supply Chain Planning -> Supply Network Planning -> Capable-To-Match -> Maintain Global Values and Default Values.
